Site History?

Hi! My name is Taliax, but most people call me Tali. I started this website in August of 2023 after searching for an online Secret Base decorating game. I thought surely someone had made one already, right? But nope. While I was a little disappointed, it was also a great opportunity. I'd known I wanted to make a pokémon fansite for a long time - ever since browsing the multitude of fansites back in the early 2000s, honestly - but this was the first time that I actually felt like I had something to contribute.

So with the help of my pal Luma, who actually knows javascript, I started building a practice page over on my Xenoblade website, Shulk's Scrapbook, so I could learn how to code drag-and-drop functions. After that was a success, I moved on to building this site's Secret Base Decorator. The rest of the site, including the home page, wasn't built until after that.

The Site Name?

I picked the name "Pamtre Berry" for this site because it was always my favorite berry back in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. I just thought the design was super pretty. Also with its description of having drifted from a faraway sea, I felt it fit well with my favoite pokémon Latias coming from Southern Island. And, well, I also just thought the name sounded cute, haha!

Your Name?

The name "Taliax" was actually given by my third-grade best friend on the playground. We played a game where she was a dragon and I was a Latias, and we both ended up becoming "Nobodies" (from Kingdom Hearts). My very original name was Latia, and the Nobody naming scheme involves anagramming your name and adding an X, so she came up with Taliax for me. It stuck, and I ended up using it as my online name for as long as I've been on the internet.
